Boiler Repair in Hampton, NH
In Hampton, 19% of homes burn oil for heat. Enough that a contractor who works on boilers is findable, not so many that everyone assumes you have one.
In brief
A town that splits its heating has both trades in it. Hampton does, at 19% of households on oil and 60% on gas, so knowing which appliance is in the basement before telephoning saves the wrong one turning up.

How Hampton heats
Both fuels feed boilers and both burn indoors, so both can produce carbon monoxide when combustion or venting goes wrong. CPSC’s guidance does not vary by fuel: alarms on every level and outside sleeping areas, and annual professional service.
| Households in Hampton | Share |
|---|---|
| Fuel oil and kerosene | 19% |
| Gas — mains and bottled | 60% |
| Electricity | 18% |
| Wood, coal, solar or no fuel | 2% |
Across the 30 towns we cover in New Hampshire, 32% of households heat with oil. Hampton sits 7 points above that.

Carbon monoxide
CPSC puts it at more than 200 deaths a year in the United States from CO produced by non-automotive consumer products. Heating equipment is one source among several, and it is the one that runs unattended all winter.

Hot water or steam
Steam and hot water are two machines wearing one word. One runs at a few pounds of vapor pressure and depends on pitch and venting; the other runs as a pumped loop and depends on pressure and air removal. Say which you have when you call and the conversation starts a step further along.

What to ask whoever comes
Ask whether the fault was diagnosed or inferred. "It is probably the circulator" and "the circulator is drawing no current" are different sentences, and only one of them justifies a part.

Checking a plumber in New Hampshire
The authority is the New Hampshire Office of Professional Licensure and Certification, Mechanical Safety and Licensing Board. New Hampshire licenses plumbers but publishes no online licensee search, so verification means contacting the office directly.
A boiler is not a furnace, and the person you want knows the difference.Tell us it is a boiler, tell us what the gauge reads if you can see it, and we will route you to somebody in your area who works on them. You are never charged. Boilers apart, Hampton can use this number for anything.
